It may be cold and snowy outside but, believe it or not, spring is just around the corner. It’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning- and I’m not just talking about cleaning out your closet or desk, you should clean out your computer, too. Just like your drawers get stuffed with clothes and papers throughout the year, your computer accumulates files and applications that you may not necessarily still need to hold onto.
- Go through your computer and delete junk files, duplicate files, and old files and applications that you do not need anymore.
- We recommend that you keep at least 20% of your hard drive free, so if you have less space than that, you may want to upgrade to a new, bigger drive.
- Once your Mac is tuned up, consider your backup options. We recommend Backblaze, an online backup system for Mac. Since all of the files are backed up online, you never have to worry about losing them due to physical computer damage.
