You’re ready to make the switch to a Mac, but you’re not sure which Apple computer is right for you? The answer depends on what you plan to do with it. Here’s a rundown of the best features of each Apple computer.
MAC LAPTOP COMPUTERS
Macbook Air – The Macbook Air is a thin laptop, perfect whether you’re going all around Buffalo for the day, or just going back and forth from your office to the conference room. It has a fast processor with plenty of hard drive space (it’s a Flash drive, so it’s really fast). That said, the MacBook Air isn’t quite as fast or powerful as the Macbook Pro – but it is a bit more economical.
MacBook Pro – This is the top Mac notebook. The MacBook Pro has the latest in graphic cards, the most powerful processor and is available with a Retina screen. If you’re a designer or a gamer or you just want a top-of-the-line laptop, this will more than suit your purposes.
The MacBook Pro has a 13” or 15” screen size. It starts off a bit more expensive than the MacBook Air – but if you need the extra performance (or just love the Retina screen), it’s worth it.
MAC DESKTOP COMPUTERS
Mac Mini – Easy to set up and fully capable, the Mac Mini might be the easiest way to make the jump from a PC to a Mac. This easy-to-transport Mac has a 2.5 GHz processor, providing plenty of power. It’s a desktop computer (you’ll need to add a monitor), but it’s almost as portable as a laptop. You don’t get as much storage space as you get in other Macs, but the Mac Mini is certainly more cost effective.
iMac – The iMac is one of the most popular desktop computers out there. If you’re a typical at-home computer user, the iMac is an excellent value. A lot of businesses use the iMac at work, too. It’s sleek, looks great in any office, and can handle almost anything you throw at it.
Mac Pro – The Mac Pro is really designed for people who are working with video, or image editing, or doing hardcore gaming – or anything else that requires a lot of processing power. This machine has a massive hard drive and an amazing graphics card. If you work in graphic design or film, the Mac Pro will make your life easier, if not effortless.
