iPads that are upgraded to iOS 8 now have the ability to scan and save credit card information. This is great when it comes to shopping on your iPhone or iPad. You can be browsing the Internet and if you were to come across something, you can quickly purchase as opposed to whipping out your credit card and tapping in the numbers while someone behind you is writing down your information at the same time. It is safe and secure to use this feature and it is only available using the Safari browser.

Let’s walk through how to scan a credit card using iOS 8.

  1. Power on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Safari.
  4. Tap Password & AutoFill.
  5. Tap Saved Credit Cards.
  6. Enter Passcode if applicable. It is  recommended to use a passcode if you are saving credit card information.
  7. Tap Add Credit Card.
  8. Tap Use Camera.
  9. Place Credit card in the position of the square frame. The credit card information is scanned automatically; Tap Done to save the information.

Happy Shopping using Safari browser on iOS 8. Your credit card is saved and you can now shop securely. Repeat this process to add additional credit cards.
