As you may have heard, Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices may have battery issues. These iPhone 5 devices were sold between September 2012 and January 2013, and are all within a limited range of serial numbers.

If your iPhone 5 has a shorter battery life, or needs to be charged more frequently, you may be able to receive a free replacement battery. Here’s how:

1. Visit the Apple support page to check your serial number

2. If you qualify, simply bring your iPhone to MacSolutions Plus in Eastern Hills Mall, near JC Penney. Before you bring it in, we recommend that you back up your data to iTunes or iCloud, turn off Find my iPhone, and erase data and settings in Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings.

Please note that we have to examine your iPhone before we replace the battery, to make sure it’s eligible for the program, and in working order. Also, if your iPhone 5 has any damage (cracked screen, etc.) that has to be fixed before we can replace the battery, and there may be an additional cost associated with the repair. MacSolutions Plus is an Apple Authorized Service Provider, and can repair any iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5c or 5s regardless of its warranty status (in warranty, out of warranty or AppleCare+), and no matter which cell phone company you have service with.
