Keep iCloud Files Available Offline on Your Mac
To keep iCloud files available offline in Buffalo, it’s important to understand how iCloud Drive manages your files. iCloud Drive saves space by offloading files you haven’t used recently to the cloud, which can be problematic when you need those files and don’t have internet access.
Pin Files for Offline Access
Right-click any file or folder in iCloud Drive and choose Keep Downloaded. This ensures the file stays on your Mac’s local storage even when macOS would normally offload it to save space.
This is critical before traveling — especially on flights or in areas with unreliable Wi-Fi. Make sure important documents, presentations, and project files are pinned before you leave.
To release the file back to iCloud’s management, right-click and choose Remove Download.
